Priced to sell. Postmarked September 8, 1939. Before and during world war 2 many Jews fleeing Nazi persecution took refuge in Shanghai China forming a ghetto. After the war, with the Nazi's defeated, and civil war in China heating up, many sought to go to Palestine or the USA. Note this was mailed a week after world war 2 erupted and went through Hong Kong and was not censored by British authorities. And it was airmail.
