Description: This 62mas is in extremely rare condition, only recently acquired from the original owner prior to being fully serviced by a top vintage Seiko specialist before being made available to it's next owner. Other than a protective relume being performed on the bezel's pip (if left unprotected they can and will collect dirt and moisture, resulting in corrosion of the bezel) nothing else cosmetically was modified, "touched up", or covered. The following maintenance items were corrected during service. Tighten cannon pinion Tighten auto framework bearing race Tighten/re-stake winding weight bridge (loose) Adj 4th wheel upper pivot end shake Replace drive wheel and finger part 802720 (worn) Replace auto framework upper transmission wheel jewel part 011112 (cracked) The movement was exceptional prior to service but was in need of some attention. The case received a sonic bath and hand cleaning only. This watch was handled with the utmost of care by its owner to have survived 57 years, and we kept that in mind while its been in our care, and what a story it has. In 1967 Steve was 13 years old when he developed a keen interest in Skin Diving as did his friends. Trouble was his father was out of the country at the time, requiring frequent letters to keep him up to date on all his latest successes, which letters his Dad was sure to enjoy. Like any good father, learning of these incredible feats of human accomplishment in his sons scribes, he brought with him a gift upon his return from serving in Vietnam, a Skin Diver watch. Not just any watch for such an accomplished swimmer, but Seiko's Professional Diver! Rated for 150m! What a Dad indeed.... This watch is everything I have detailed here and more. The dial and hands of this watch are the finest I have ever seen. The movement runs as new (an amplitude of 282 is just unreal). There will be no offers accepted on this watch at this time. If that should change it will be updated. All parts that were replace during service will be included. It currently wears a very soft grey NATO, and will also include the Stainless H-link as provided by the previous owner. Thank you, and feel free to ask any questions. Currently for sale in USA only. Sorry.
