Description: 1812 Horsemans sabre. 32-inch blade, 37.5 inches overall. Brass lion head handle with brass guard. The guard is a little loose. Guard is missing or (has been removed) a small strip. A few cracks are present in the brass guard. The blade appears to have two touch marks. The blade is in very good condition with some pitting on the tip. Nice floral etching with a US and E. Piuribus Unum and a left facing eagle on both sides. The spine has Coulaux and co ,which is French they made blades for the US military in the early 1800s.
