Description: DESCRIPTION MADE IN THE USA Buffing tapers have internal threads and are designed to screw onto a shaft. The external taper is threaded so buffs can be screwed onto the taper. Buffs with PIN HOLE CENTERS are the ONLY buffs that will work on buffing tapers because they have hard centers. The hard centers give the threads on the taper something to screw into. As the tapered thread screws itself into the buff, the buffs becomes wedged tighter and tighter until the buff stops moving. Pin hole center buffs are also know as leather centered buffs, shellac centered buffs and lead centered buffs. Without the use of a buffing taper, a buff is normally clamped between flanges and the nut tightened to secure it on the shaft. These buffing taper is designed to thread onto a shaft with left hand 3/4" x 10 threads per inch (TPI), and fits Baldor Buffing Machines # 332B (3/4 HP 1800 RPM) and # 333B (3/4HP 3600 RPM).
