Description: This is a nice, original Chinese Press Photo depicting a large machine tool factory, part of the first five year plan to make China independent from foreign imports. Part of an accumulation of Chinese images and photos from the lives and collections of Peter Townsend, a noted China scholar and Lord John Boyd Orr, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate (1949) and once director-general of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations immediately after World War II. Photos from 1940's to mid 1950's. Measures 8.5" x 7.5" There is some mild surface discoloration and some wear at edges. Please review photos carefully and Email with any question.
