Description: Elgin Grade 303 Model 3 12 Size Octagonal Gold Filled Pocket Watch ca. 1925. This vintage Elgin grade 303, model 3, 7 jewel, 12 size, open face pocket watch has a gold filled octagonal case measuring approximately 42.65mm x 2 1/4 inches long including bow. The case back is completely hand engraved with line work, a guilloche finish and a beautiful landside scene with a house and landscaping. The case has heavy wear through along the sides, as pictured. The silver metallic dial has black Arabic numerals, light spade/whip hands, a single sunk seconds register at six and is marked "Elgin". The center of the dial appears to have an engraving of two phoenix like birds. The dial has some aging, as pictured. The crystal is in good condition. The inside case is stamped "Paramount Guaranteed - Guaranteed 25 Years - 3370144". The nickel movement is stamped "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co. - U.S.A. - 28344326". Stem wind and set. This watch is running 2 - 3 minutes fast per 24 hours. No guarantee of future performance.
