Description: The Babcock & Wilcox Company has been around since the 1850's. For years they were a major boiler maker company in the United States. They are still in business today. In the past, they would honor long time employees by presenting them with a pair of cast iron bookends as a token of appreciation for their long time dedication to the company, perhaps as a retirement gift. For sale here is one such pair that was given to an employee for 31 years of service. The pair is quite heavy. The combined weight is about 5 pounds. Each measures about 6 1/2" tall, 4 1/2" wide and about 1 1/2" deep. This pair is in nice condition for no chips or cracks. The Art Deco style figure on each is in excellent condition. Please look carefully at the photos here as they can better describe this pair of bookends better than I can using words. I have liquidated estates for over 40 years.
