Vintage 1970's Swiss 100 Day-Date World Time Diver w/Powder Blue Dial,Patina

Description: This seldom seen vintage 1970's Swiss 100 day-date diver has a powder blue "SWISS MADE" signed dial that is in pristine condition and the original lume, which no longer emits a glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The world time bezel, which shows wear and does not rotate likely due to gunk buildup underneath, presents nicely. The chrome-plated case shows moderate wear and brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERRESISTANT - STAINLESS STEEL BACK - ANTIMAGNETIC - UNBREAKABLE MAINSPRING - CASE SWISS MADE." The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove. The manual wind movement with quickset date runs strong, keeps accurate time and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should. The quickset date function works flawlessly by moving the hour hand backwards until the desired date has been reached. After winding the brassed non-screw down crown 32 full revolutions the movement had a healthy power reserve of approximately 37 hours. The top crown moves the inner bezel bidirectionally and the lower crown, which is used to set the day, date and time, winds smoothly. Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 39 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the dual crowns and approximately 20.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.
