If you like what you see here, please add me to your list of favourite sellers and follow my store for daily stock updates, thanks - Rod Sale Details Description:Vintage Corgi X2 Lasertron D2024 Rare X-Ploratrons Sci-fi Made in Gt.Britain 1980s With Star Wars a big hit and Gerry Anderson effectively out of the picture in the 1980's, Corgi turned to its imagination for a brief range of space themed vehicles to cash in on the rekindled wave of interest in sci-fi. The X-Ploratrons weren't a huge success but were one of the short lived novelty lines that the company experimented with before it began to founder. The four mid size diecasts each had an action feature and a metallic sticker with its name on the side, although on the base they are named as Explorers rather than X-Ploratrons. This indicates that the names were changed at the last minute.
