Description: This listing is for: 24 Vintage Autopoint Dealer's Sample 0.9mm Mechanical Pencils, 12 of these pencils are of Autopoint Model No. 126 with blue 10-sided "paneled" barrels, and the other 12 pencils are of Autopoint Model No. 127 with black round barrels. The pencils plastic parts have scratches, dirt, stain, and color changing. Expect the worse condition you can think of. All boxes showing the photos are in bad conditions due to mold, stains, rips, tears, etc. The pencils mechanically works with a lot of issues, such as mold, dirt, rust, etc. Erasers are rusted and instruction sheets are rusted under the pocket clips. Although it is feasible to remove the rust under the pocket clips, I did not want to mess up these pencils due to my bad experience missing up many pencils in my early years of collecting. Selling as is, for parts only, as photographed, and with no return. The Autopoint Dealer's info are printed/imprinted on the pencil, including name, address, and phone number. The dealer who owned these pencil used to work as a district manager for Autopoint and advertised for many products from Autopoint, Dur-O-Lite, Zippo, and others. The pencils with the blue barrels (i.e., Model No. 126, Executive) were advertised in a 1972/1973 handout – that is not included in this sale – in which this model was advertised as: "Nos. 26/126 Executive. Paneled barrels enhanced with smartly styled metal eraser cap and fingergrip band. Barrels in Black, Gray, Red, Blue. Black fingergrips shipped unless color specified. Individually boxed." Note that “Paneled” means non-round. The barrels of the No. 126 pencils included in this listing are 10-sided. In the same advertisement – again, not included in this listing – Model No. 127 was advertised as: "Nos. 27/127 Executive. Round barrels with same features as 26/126. Check catalog for information on charts and calendars available for these pencils.”Note that the writing on the outside boxes seems original and potentially refers to the exact month and year (February of 1972) when these pencils were produced or when they arrived to the Autopoint dealer in New York (i.e., when he was working as an Autopoint's District Manager for the Buffalo, NY, area). Note that: Autopoint Executive pencils with paneled barrels are different from those with round barrels. The paneled barrels, such as in model No. 26 with 1.18mm (not included in this listing) or model No. 126 with 0.9mm leads, have the advertising info "imprinted" on the barrels, while round barrels, such as in model No. 27 with 1.18mm leads (not included in this listing) or model No. 127 with 0.9mm leads, have the advertising info "printed on the barrels.Important: Pricing due to rarity, not due condition, so expect the worse in terms of condition. The pencil is not inspected thoroughly and no guarantee for anything.
