Description: You are bidding on a bottle of wheat kernels. The paper affixed to the label states "Sample of Wheat raised during the year 1897, Ac. 75, Bu. 650, ( 8 2/3 Bu. to acre). The bottle had a cork in it. The cork is mainly gone. The kernels of grain move freely within the bottle. The bottle appears to be 1/2 pint. The value in this sample would likely be for genetic purposes. Over the last 80 years plant seeds have been modified and engineered for certain traits. This sample would be more genetically "pure" to "natural" wheat. I am guessing this sample came from western Minnesota or the Dakotas. Bottle, label and contents are in very good condition.
